Nina McCarrick lives the perfect life, until her husband, Finn, is killed in a car accident and everything Nina thought she could rely on unravels.

Alone, bereft and faced with a mountain of debt, Nina quickly loses her life of luxury and she begins to question whether she ever really knew the man she married. Forced to move out of her family home, Nina returns to the rundown Southampton council estate—and the sister—she thought she had left far behind.

But Nina can’t let herself be overwhelmed—her boys need her. To save them, and herself, she will have to do what her husband discouraged for so long: pursue a career of her own. Torn between the life she thought she knew and the reality she now faces, Nina finally must learn what it means to take control of her life.

My Thoughts:

Can I just say how stunning the cover of this book is. The purple is so eye catching and pretty. I have not read many of Amanda’s books and am starting to ask myself why. Tissues are definitely needed with this book, I cried at the beginning, Amanda has a way with her words that are sympathetic and heart felt. I felt as through this book was true to life and couldn’t ever imagine what Nina goes through but it happens. I felt as though I really cared for Nina and her boys and was willing them to get back up and find their feet. A truly beautiful read.

I was given a advanced reading copy of this book for an honest review.

Ahead of the paperback copy of this books release I was asked if I would like to be involved in a paper chain of  thanks which means that I can give away a copy of the book to someone and explain my reasons why. I could choose anyone including my lovely readers, friends, family members or run a competition. Well I decided that I am giving my copy away to my beautiful mum, she has always been there for me through thick and thin. Even when I made bad decisions in my life she still stood by me and looked after me when I was really poorly. She has been my rock and I will never forget all of the things she has done for me. She is very special to me and she really deserves to read this book and have a little me time. She is an amazing. I love you mum. You rock!!

My Thoughts:

The cover of this book is so pretty it makes me think of the summer straight away. I loved the story and I loved all the characters. In some parts I really felt for Christie and her son and really wanted to help her or give her a big hug and say that everything would be ok. I found the storyline about crafting quite mesmerising and it has spurred me on to do a little bit of crafting, which I am really looking forward to. I didn’t want it to end and I thought it was superbly written.

Letting You Go By Anouska Knight

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of this book by Anouska Knight. I will certainly be keeping my eye out in the future for books by her as this one was so powerful, I was hooked. This is a story about a family, an unfortunate accident which has devastating consequences happen and you see how all the family learn to cope and live with it and themselves. The characters were very well drawn and believable, I just got so sucked into their world that I did not want to stop reading. Superbly written by a very lovely author.

Join Anna and Imogen and share a summer on the Amalfi Coast that you’ll never forget.

My Thoughts:

The heavenly Italian Ice Cream Shop follows on from Vivien’s Heavenly Ice Cream Shop which I would suggest reading before this one so you can familiarise yourself with all the wonderful characters. This is such a quick and easy read which I really enjoyed. I had to buy this book as I enjoyed the first one but also because I am a big fan of ice cream. I found it fascinating how Anna and Matteo decide to set up an ice cream shop in Italy, I loved all the flavours they were dishing out to the locals and the tourists. I really loved this follow up book and finding out what everyone had got up to. I look forward to Abby Clements next book very much.
