From Meg Cabot, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Princess Diaries series, comes the very first new adult instalment, featuring the now grown-up Princess Mia!
Royal Wedding follows Princess Mia and her Prince Charming as they plan their fairy tale wedding – but a few poisoned apples could turn this happily-ever-after into a royal nightmare.
For Princess Mia, the past five years since college graduation have been a whirlwind of activity, what with living in New York City, running her new teen community centre, being madly in love, and attending royal engagements. And speaking of engagements, Mia’s gorgeous longtime boyfriend Michael managed to clear both their schedules just long enough for an exotic (and very private) Caribbean island interlude where he popped the question! Of course Mia didn’t need to consult her diary to know that her answer was a royal oui.
But now Mia has a scandal of majestic proportions to contend with: Her grandmother’s leaked “fake” wedding plans to the press that could cause even normally calm Michael to become a runaway groom. Worse, a scheming politico is trying to force Mia’s father from the throne, all because of a royal secret that could leave Genovia without a monarch. Can Mia prove to everyone – especially herself – that she’s not only ready to wed, but ready to rule as well?
My Thoughts:
I am very grateful to receive an advanced copy of this book from the lovely people at lovereading. Meg Cabot is a new author to me, I chose this book as I am trying to read lots of different authors this year but also I loved the design on the cover, it is vibrant and made me want to read it straight away. I did find this book hard to get into, but a couple of chapters in I was hooked. I loved the way the pages are set out, some pages have text speak on them, other’s have invites aswell, it kind of broke it up a bit and it was a bit of fun. I really enjoyed the story some parts were really funny, I loved the fact that even though she is a Princess, Mia is a down to earth woman, who has problems just like you and I. I look forward to the next book.

This is the hilarious follow-up to Trading Vincent Crow – in which we were introduced to Vincent, who was determined that he had to trade-up his life every three months for a new and better one. This meant a new job, new girl, new wheels, new pad, new threads – until he reached the top. In D.C.J. Wardle’s new novel, Vincent Crow: Export, we re-visit Vincent – to see that his unique but ad-hoc approach to self-improvement has inspired him to journey east.
One wedding. One curse? Disaster ever after…
