A Surprise Christmas Wedding By Phillipa Ashley

A Surprise Christmas Wedding By Phillipa Ashley

It’s been a year since Lottie’s fiancé walked out, leaving her heartbroken. But things start to look up when she lands her dream job at a beautiful Lake District estate, with a handsome groundskeeper for a neighbour.

So when Lottie is asked to organise a last minute Christmas wedding at Firholme, she can’t wait to get started. Until she meets the couple, and discovers that Connor, the man who broke her heart, is the groom-to-be.

As snow falls on the hills, can Lottie put aside her past to organise the perfect winter wedding? And will there be any festive magic left to bring Lottie the perfect Christmas she deserves?

My Thoughts:

I really loved this book, Lottie has been hurt by her ex but still managed to smile. When her sister is ill too she decided not to tell her sister all the details, I really felt for Lottie having to help her sister and help out with her two young nieces whilst having the heartache of her ex with it. I loved everything about this story, the romance, the snow and of course Christmas. I felt as though Lottie puts everyone first before herself and misses out of things because of it. When she meets Jay I thought this is her chance but Jay has heart ache too. Can they both work out their past and leave it all behind? I wonder if there will be a sequel? A must Christmas read.

My Thoughts:

I really loved this book, if you are after an uplifting with a sweet romance then this is the story for you, the characters are all relatable, I loved the connection with Becky and Charlie, and also two year old Dylan. Also all the mentions about cake made me really hungry and they sounded delicious. I wanted to finish quickly but then I really did not want the book to end. A very easy to follow read.

One day in Summer By Shari Low

One day in Summer By Shari Low

One day in summer, three lives are about to change forever.

After two decades of looking after others, this is the day that Agnetha McMaster is reclaiming her life. It’s her turn, her time but will she have the courage to start again?

Ten years ago, Mitchell McMaster divorced Agnetha and married her best friend, Celeste. Now he suspects his second wife is having an affair. This is the day he’ll discover if karma has come back to bite him.

Thanks to a DNA test, this is the day that Hope McTeer will finally meet her biological father. But will the reunion bring Hope the answers that she’s looking for?

My Thoughts:

This is another brilliant read from Shari Low. This story is about three different people and how in one Summer their lives have changed. The chapters flit back to the past with some very surprising twists in the story. I liked the characters apart from Celeste, she was not a nice person at all. Even at the end of the story I was shocked for her and all concerned. There is lots going on in the story but it’s jam packed full of lies, betrayals, romance and family, you are in for a real treat.

But when she can’t resist keeping her new boy toy around even after the ‘I do’s’, Kelly knows she needs to hit the off switch on this romance, fast. Only, when you’ve found (well, made) your perfect man, how do you kiss him goodbye?

My Thoughts:

I loved the concept of this book, a little bit different when there are robots involved. There is a playful side to the book with some of the sentences that I picked up on through out of the book which I liked. I didn’t know much about robots until reading this book, here you gain a little more insight into them which was interesting. I liked the fact with this book you had no idea where it was leading too. But I liked it.

When old history and new dreams threaten her happily ever after, will Londyn and Callum’s love survive?

My Thoughts:

I love getting a book that is the debut for the author which this one is. I am a big fan and look forward to book 2 in the series as it was really good. The writing flowed and the story line really worked. Sometimes it is hard to write about real life situations and be sensitive but Skye the author really handled them all very well indeed. The comedy is absolutely brilliant in it, ( I nearly snorted my tea out of my nose) and the characters are written well. I look forward to reading the next book.

A Winter Kiss on Rochester Mews By Annie Darling

A Winter Kiss on Rochester Mews By Annie Darling

annie darling.jpg

This title will be released on November 29, 2018.

Tis the season to be jolly!

But on Rochester Mews, two unlikely lovebirds are struggling to find their festive cheer.

Star baker Mattie has hated Christmas ever since she had her heart broken on Christmas Eve. The only thing she hates more is the insufferable Tom, who has rubbed her up the wrong way since she started running the tearoom next door to his bookshop. So when Mattie and Tom are left in charge in the frantic festive days before Christmas, it might be cold outside but things are sure to heat up.

Can a bookshop full of romantic novels, a life-sized reindeer and a mistletoe kissing booth persuade two scrooges to fall in love with Christmas… and each other?

My Thoughts:

A perfect heart warming read to snuggle up with. When a book has Christmas, romance and festive baking in it you know it is going to be good. This is the second book I have read of Annie Darling’s and I found this one comforting and a nice festive read. Some of the recipes Mattie makes are in the back of the book which is an added bonus. The perfect Christmas read.

With nowhere else to turn, she ventures to the mansion of a mysterious billionaire to ask for help. Warned to expect a beast, Emily is shocked to find Grady Sinclair a handsome and very sensual man. With steamy kisses under the mistletoe and seductive whispers while hanging the wreath, Emily finds there’s more to Grady than meets the eye. Is this misunderstood billionaire just a lonely soul who needs the gift of love for Christmas?

My Thoughts:

Having never read any of this author’s books before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was recommended this book first as I would meet all the characters then I would know who is who in the next book. This is a lovely romantic story that isn’t too long. The story is written well and the erotic parts are well detailed without being over the top. I look forward to reading the next one.

Voice of Innocence By Lindsey Detwiler

Voice of Innocence By Lindsey Detwiler

Emma and Corbin: two typical teenagers traveling the road of first love together, innocent hearts linked by an impenetrable bond. When Corbin is convicted of a murder he didn’t commit and faces years in prison, though, their love is severed.

Decades later, Corbin is finally proven innocent and both are haunted by a relationship neither has forgotten. Lives irrevocably altered and time passed, Emma and Corbin must face a difficult decision: should they settle for the separate lives that have become their reality, or can they take the risk that the passion of a first love doesn’t fade with time?

My Thoughts:

This book is a love story with many interesting and intriguing twists. I found it really interesting to hear about the characters and they way you can read about their innermost thoughts. I think Lindsey has done that really well. This is a book that people will be able to relate to, it will make you think about life in general and about all the turns that life deals to us all. This book made me really think about my life and I really hope that there is a sequel as I would love to hear more about the two main characters.

My Thoughts:

I thought this book was brilliant, a stunning plot that will have you thinking for a time after you have read this book. Nice start to the story and Devika writes incredibly well as the conclusion is fantastic. I’ve even had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Devika’s first book ‘When I see Your Face’ and that was a brilliant story too. I love the cover too as it adds a certain mystery to what will happen in this story. Intriguing story.
