The Day We Disappeared By Lucy Robinson

The Day We Disappeared By Lucy Robinson

Annie has a secret. But if she’s not going to tell, we won’t either. It’s a heart-breaking secret she wishes she didn’t have – yet Annie isn’t broken, not quite yet. Especially now there’s someone who seems determined to fix her.
Kate has run away. But she’s not going to tell us why – that would defeat the point of running, wouldn’t it? It’s proving difficult to reinvent herself, however, with one person always on her mind.
Scratch beneath the surface and nobody is really who they seem. Even Annie and Kate aren’t entirely sure who they are any more.

My Thoughts:

I had heard so many great reviews on this book that I just had to go and buy it. I am very glad I did, even though I had heard of Lucy Robinson I am not really sure what I haven’t read any of her books before. Well, that is going to change. I loved the beginning, middle and end of this book. I really enjoyed reading the equestrian side of this book, I loved Stumpy, I am a big fan of horses so that was a winner when read this book. I also enjoyed the reading the parallels of their two lives with Annie falling for Stephen and Kate falling for Mark, he seemed very nice ;). The best part of this book was the twist, I would never of seen it coming. Just Wow, An all together brilliantly written book.

Pandora’s Prophecy: A Greek Island Mystery By Julie Ryan

Pandora’s Prophecy: A Greek Island Mystery By Julie Ryan

Lisa and Mark are going through a rough patch, Vicky is seventeen and has just discovered that the man she thought was her father really isn’t, Ruth is getting over her husband’s betrayal after nearly twenty-five years of marriage. On the surface they have nothing in common except that they are all staying in the same hotel on a Greek Island. Bodies begin to pile up as a serial killer is on the loose who might just be targeting the hotel. The Island’s Police Chief, Christos Pavlides, tries to solve the puzzle but he has problems of his own to resolve. It seems that the local celebrity author is the one who holds the key.

My Thoughts:

This is Julie’s third book in the Greek Island Mystery series and it can be read as a stand alone. This story is all about a girl called Pandora who as a child discovers she can read minds and see aura’s, So she has the gift of prophecy. There are many more characters to come in this fantastic little story, which all link into the story. But then a tragedy happens and the police are called and it is a race against time to find the killer.

I Will Marry George Clooney (By Christmas) By Tracy Bloom

I Will Marry George Clooney (By Christmas) By Tracy Bloom

There comes a time in every woman’s life when the only answer is to marry George Clooney.

For Michelle, that time is now.

Slogging her guts out in a chicken factory, whilst single-handedly bringing up a teenager who hates her, is far from the life that 36-year-old Michelle had planned.

But marrying the most eligible man on the planet by Christmas could change all that, couldn’t it?

Sometimes your only option is to dream the impossible – because you never know where it might take you…

This is a fun, completely fantastical novel featuring George Clooney, and has not been authorised or endorsed by the wondrous man himself.

My Thoughts:

This story got crazier by the minute, it did make the story endearing though. I am not a big George Clooney fan but wanted to read this book as I saw a lot of hype about it when it was first out. I liked the way that the story focuses on the relationship between mother and daughter rather than just being a love story. I enjoyed the ending, it was lovely.

Castaway In The Caribbean By Janice Horton

Castaway In The Caribbean By Janice Horton

Vacationing on the beautiful Caribbean island of Antigua, Janey Sinclair is persuaded by her magazine editor boss to do a quick island hop in order to supervise an impromptu photo-shoot for the front cover. With no flights immediately available, Janey is directed to the harbour.
Captain Travis Mathews hates tourists, although he’s not above making a bit of money off a prissy and sharp tongued young British girl when she’s desperate to get to the neighbouring island of Tortola.

After striking a deal, they set off together in Travis’s weather-beaten old boat. When the vessel comes to a sudden full stop in the sea, the mismatched pair end up as castaways on an uninhabited island.
In this fast moving romantic adventure about a vacation that turns into a tropical nightmare there’s more fun than you’ll find in any travel brochure.

My Thoughts:

I have been to the Caribbean before so I knew I would want to read this book. This is a romantic story with a twist, I liked all the characters, the setting was amazing. I felt like I was back there reading this book, it is a definite holiday read. I found this book an enjoyable read. You may want to book a holiday after reading this book though.

Country Affairs By Zara Stoneley

Country Affairs By Zara Stoneley

Welcome back to Tippermere for the wedding of the year…

Scatty but loveable Lottie Brinkley is famous throughout the village for her disorganised personality so when she steps up to plan the perfect wedding the only likely outcome is disaster.

When her globetrotting, love cheat of an ex, Todd, literally crashes the wedding on a not-so-noble steed, things definitely look set to take a turn for the scandalous. As rumours of why he’s back spread through the village quicker than the stable girl can drop her knickers, is Lottie’s future with sexy eventer Rory Steel about to fall at the next fence?

With a wave of unexpected pregnancies, steamy shenanigans in the hay and a farrier with more than shoeing horses on his mind, will Lottie ever be ready to take on the coveted title of Lady of the Manor and restore the Estate to its former glory?

As the heart of the village, Tipping House Estate, makes its move into the 21st Century, pulses start to race in a novel packed full of charm, hunky stallions (the guys that is), and a daring plan that just has to succeed…

My Thoughts:

Having previously read Zara’s last book Stable Mates I knew this book would just be as good. There is alot going on but it makes it an enjoyable read. There are dogs, horses, romance and studs, what more could you want? The main character is called Lottie who is going to become Lady of the Manor. I really liked the way Lottie manages to come up with a idea that works as they need to do maintenance to the Estate. There are some amusing parts to this story too, really enjoyed the story too. There are some cracking characters in this book and some hot men, you have been warned. Brilliantly written.

Hearts of Stone By Simon Scarrow

Hearts of Stone By Simon Scarrow

This title will be released on June 4, 2015.

1938: A perfect summer on the island of Lefkas for three young people untroubled by the simmering politics of Europe. Peter, visiting from Germany while his father works on an archaeological dig, has begun a friendship with locals Andreas and Eleni. As Peter leaves, they swear to meet again.

1942: War has come to paradise. Andreas and Eleni have joined the partisan forces resisting the invasion. Peter has returned to the island – as a dangerously well – informed enemy intelligence officer. As increasingly vicious conflict ensues, a friendship formed in peace between three teenagers will turn into a desperate battle between enemies sworn to sacrifice everything for the countries that they love.

My Thoughts:

Not having previously read any books about World War Two, I am very glad this book came my way. Tahnk you to lovereading for sending me an advanced copy. The story is set in 1938 and is about three teenagers Andreas, Eleni and Peter. I loved the way the story was set out and it differed from past to present, with Eleni telling her grand daughter Anna all about her past. It also has it written from each of the teenagers perspectives and how the war came into their lives. I thoroughly enjoyed this book more than I thought I would, I love the descriptions of certain things it made it much more of an interesting read. Such a powerful, interesting read. Very well researched. Will definitely be looking out for more of Simon Scarrow’s books.

Bride without a Groom By Amy Lynch

Bride without a Groom By Amy Lynch

Single, coupled-up or married, this laugh-out-loud summer read is the perfect anecdote for the wedding season!

Rebecca has chosen the most luscious, five tiered, wedding cake. The engagement ring that she has selected is celebrity inspired. The wedding singer is on speed dial. He doesn’t usually do Michael Bolton, but as it’s for a first dance he’ll make an exception. Father Maguire is checking dates for the parish church as we speak. The deposit on the white sand honeymoon is paid for in full on Barry’s card. She has fallen for an ivory lace couture gown that is to die for. The down payment may require her to sell a left kidney, but it will be worth it. Isn’t that why you have two?

There’s one teeny tiny problem. It’s nothing, really. No need to panic! It’s just that Barry has yet to propose. Says he’s not ready! He can be a bit of a kill joy that way. It’s time to face the harsh reality – Rebecca is a bride without a groom!

My Thoughts:

This is such a funny read, I couldn’t stop laughing. I loved Rebecca as she is likeable but really funny too. This is a nice easy read that you can just pick up and put down. I would recommend it as a holiday read, I got engaged to my partner at Christmas and I know I would definitely not be anything like Rebecca, even though it was funny to see what she gets up to, I look forward to a quiet and intimate wedding but I did really enjoy this book.

Cape Cod Kisses: Love on Rockwell Island By Melissa Foster

Cape Cod Kisses: Love on Rockwell Island By Melissa Foster

CAPE COD KISSES, Book One

When Quinn Rockwell left Rockwell Island a decade ago to build a shipping empire, he never thought he’d return to live on Cape Cod Bay–that is, until his grandfather summons Quinn and his four siblings to take over the prestigious Rockwell Resort. Quinn is already working fifteen-hour days, and the last thing he has time for is his grandfather’s demands. But on his first night back, when Quinn finds a gorgeous and carefree woman skinny-dipping in his favorite cove, he’s tempted to ignore his work for a while…and focus on her instead.

As a free spirit who follows her heart and her dreams, Shelley Walters is not the kind of girl to wait around for Mr. Right, so she heads to Rockwell Island for the honeymoon of her dreams–a solo honeymoon. Ready for a week of sun and fun, she never expected to meet a man like Quinn Rockwell.

Wealthy and intensely driven, Quinn is everything Shelley swore she didn’t want. Refreshingly spontaneous and a true romantic, Shelley is everything Quinn never knew he needed. Drawn together despite their differences, during a week of sizzling-hot passion and deep conversations, they fall head over heels for each other. But when their perfect week on the island is over, will their love survive in the real world?

My Thoughts:

This is the first book in the Rockwell Island series. This book is written by Melissa Foster and Bella Andre but I wouldn’t of guessed if I hadn’t of known. I thought the Rockwell family were lovely and I can’t wait to get to know them all better. This is a love story at it’s best, there are some steamy scenes but I think that just adds to it, there are also lots of romance and lots of laughs. It is such a feel good book. I am hooked and I can’t wait for the next book, also will be looking out for some Bella Andre books.

Lucy In The Sky By Paige Toon

Lucy In The Sky By Paige Toon

Settling down for a 24-hour flight to Australia, Lucy finds a text message on her phone – not from her boyfriend James, as she fondly hopes, but from a woman claiming to have slept with him four times in the past month. Trapped on the plane, she questions everything about her relationship with James. She finally calls him and he reassures her: it was only his mates playing a silly joke. James is a lawyer, persuasive and gorgeous and Lucy adores him.

So why, at the wedding in Sydney of her best friend Molly, does she have niggling doubts, and find herself attracted to Molly’s brother-in-law Nathan? The sooner she gets back to her regular life in London, the flat she shares with James, her job in PR, the better. Nathan is a happy-go-lucky surfer boy, with no prospects, no place to live, an almost-girlfriend in tow. And the other side of the world…Lucy – a girl caught between two distant continents – and two very different men…

My Thoughts:

This is pure chick lit at it’s best. This is a fast paced read but such an enjoyable one. Brilliantly written with a cracking storyline, it will make you cry and laugh all at the same time. Such a time waster of a book I just didn’t want to put it down. I loved the connection between Lucy and Nathan and I could see what James was really like early on. I really liked Lucy I thought she seemed down to earth and a tad like me in certain aspects. I loved reading all the jokes too, some of them were pretty funny. Would love to read more of Paige’s books soon.
