Rules of the Road By Ciara Geraghty

Rules of the Road By Ciara Geraghty

ciara

Tuesday morning starts like any other – until Terry discovers her best friend Iris has gone missing. Finding her takes Terry, Iris and Terry’s confused father Eugene, into an extraordinary journey – one that will change all of their lives. And, along the way, what should be the worst six days of Terry’s life turn into the best.

Because friendship teaches us all to be brave. And, sometimes, the rules are made to be broken.

My Thoughts:

Ciara is a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more of her books, even though this is a emotional read, it is dealt with tenderness and is very moving. I love the fact that Terry cares so much about her best friend Iris and it is heartbreaking to see what she goes through for her dad. I am sure there are people out there that can relate. Terry tries her best to do good for everyone else except herself. I love the warmth between all three characters. Such a feel good read.

Live A Little By Madeleine Reiss

Two Sisters. One road trip. What could possibly go wrong?

Lottie has always followed the rules, her life is comfortable and she is – finally, finally – marrying her long-term, sensible, boyfriend Dean.

Tina is carefree, wild and, maybe, just a little bit careless. She doesn’t understand Lottie’s obsession with settling down with ‘dull Dean’. There’s so much to explore in the world.

The two sisters have drifted apart since the death of their older sister. Without her, Lottie and Tina realise how little they know each other. Desperate to remedy this, Tina convinces Lottie to set out on a road trip across the US, just the two of them.

But Tina has one more surprise in mind to shake up Lottie’s life – she must say yes to everything Tina suggests, no matter what . . .

My Thoughts:

This is the story of two sisters called Lottie and Tina, we hear about their own personal stories which I am sure some women can relate to. I didn’t feel as though I connected with either sister as I felt as though they were both a little bit selfish in their own ways. I liked the idea of the story how they go on a road trip and get up to all sorts of things. Part of the story is quite emotional and that is when I really felt for the sisters.
