The Cosy Christmas Chocolate Shop By Caroline Roberts

The Cosy Christmas Chocolate Shop By Caroline Roberts

The snow is falling, the hot chocolate’s warming, and hearts are melting . . .

Emma is the proud owner of The Chocolate Shop by the Sea, nestled in the heart of the cosy seaside village that’s become her home. With Christmas right around the corner, she and her assistant Holly are busy cooking up the locals’ festive favourites.

From cinnamon hot chocolates to reindeer lollipops, Christmas wouldn’t taste the same without a little cocoa magic. And for Emma it’s the perfect distraction from her romantic pains of the past. So when the shop’s miserly landlord threatens to hike up the rent, Emma’s Christmas and New Year suddenly look a lot less cheerful.

With the whole village rallying behind her – and loyal spaniel Alfie by her side – Emma’s determined to hold onto her chocolate-box dream.

The chocolate calendar countdown is on. Can Emma rescue her business and her broken heart?

My Thoughts:

If you want a cosy festive read this is the book for you, add some romance and lots of chocolate and what more could you want? Caroline is a new author to me and I really don’t know why I haven’t read any of her books before. This one was perfect. I love the fact that Emma runs her own chocolate shop that would be my dream job, and her sweet little dog Alfie sounds adorable. I love how the people in the village all help Emma out when she needed them. Max sounds like a lovely guy too and I really hope that there is a sequel as I would love to find out what happens next in Emma’s future.

A young woman is found beheaded in an infamous business tycoon’s marble-lined hallway.

But who is the dead woman? And who is the brutal killer who wielded the machete?

Rewind two months earlier to meet Emma Bohman, a sales assistant for Clothes & More, whose life is turned upside down by a chance encounter with Jesper Orre. Insisting that their love affair is kept secret, he shakes Emma’s world a second time when he suddenly leaves her with no explanation.

As frightening things begin to happen to Emma, she suspects Jesper is responsible. But why does he want to hurt her? And how far would he go to silence his secret lover?

My Thoughts:

I was given a copy of this book and absolutely loved it. This is Camilla’s debut novel and it is a very gripping read. With each chapter being told by a different person it should become confusing but it really doesn’t. The characters all have their personal issues to deal with and we find out more about each one as we head deeper into the story. I couldn’t put this book down. The ending was brilliant. I will be keeping my eye out for Camilla’s next book in the future.

Voice of Innocence By Lindsey Detwiler

Voice of Innocence By Lindsey Detwiler

Emma and Corbin: two typical teenagers traveling the road of first love together, innocent hearts linked by an impenetrable bond. When Corbin is convicted of a murder he didn’t commit and faces years in prison, though, their love is severed.

Decades later, Corbin is finally proven innocent and both are haunted by a relationship neither has forgotten. Lives irrevocably altered and time passed, Emma and Corbin must face a difficult decision: should they settle for the separate lives that have become their reality, or can they take the risk that the passion of a first love doesn’t fade with time?

My Thoughts:

This book is a love story with many interesting and intriguing twists. I found it really interesting to hear about the characters and they way you can read about their innermost thoughts. I think Lindsey has done that really well. This is a book that people will be able to relate to, it will make you think about life in general and about all the turns that life deals to us all. This book made me really think about my life and I really hope that there is a sequel as I would love to hear more about the two main characters.
