The Piano Man Project By Kat French

The Piano Man Project By Kat French

A delightfully romantic, heartwarming read for everyone who’s ever looked for The One and found someone better.

You: kind, piano-playing sex god
Me: hopelessly romantic charity shop manager

Honeysuckle Jones has a problem, and her best friends Nell and Tash are on a mission to help her solve it. She needs a man – a caring, intelligent, funny man. But most importantly, a man who’s good with his hands…

Luckily Honey’s new neighbour – moody, antisocial ex-chef Hal – fails on almost every count. Even though the chemistry between them is electric, he’s obviously wrong for her in every way.

But when Honey discovers the devastating reason for his moods she decides to give him another chance. And discovers that the best songs aren’t always in tune…

My Thoughts:

I was given this book for an honest review, and I really liked it, this is a feel – good, hilarious romantic comedy that you just wont want to put down. This is my first and will definitely not be my last read of Kat French’s. I thought all the characters were brilliant. I thought Honey was such a down to earth woman, who would do anything for anyone she reminded me of myself.  There is everything you could possibly want from a book, a great storyline, a lot of laughs, some naughty parts but also some emotion. From reading this book I know what is on the inside that counts not the outside. Superbly written, would recommend for a holiday read.

Also:

I just want to say a BIG Thank you to the team at Avon, who to promote this book sent me the letter Hal sent to Honey to make a spaghetti bolognese. They also sent me all the ingredients so I could make it myself. Here are a few of the pictures I took:DSCF3213

I thought this was a brilliant way to promote the book, but also a way that I will always remember. Brilliant stuff. I have yet to make the spaghetti bolognese but when I do I will be posting the pictures up.

The Rest Of My Life By Sheryl Browne

The Rest Of My Life By Sheryl Browne

You can’t run away from commitment forever …
Adam Hamilton-Shaw has more reason than most to avoid commitment. Living on a houseboat in the Severn Valley, his dream is to sail into the sunset – preferably with a woman waiting in every port. But lately, his life looks more like a road to destruction than an idyllic boat ride…

Would-be screenplay writer Sienna Meadows realises that everything about Adam spells trouble – but she can’t ignore the feeling that there is more to him than just his bad reputation. Nor can she ignore the intense physical attraction that exists between them.
And it just so happens that Adam sees Sienna as the kind of woman he could commit to. But can he change his damaging behaviour – or is the road to destruction a one-way street?

My Thoughts:

This story is about a very sweet romance between Adam Hamilton-Shaw who is a perennial womaniser and Sienna Meadows who is a screenplay writer. Sienna has just recently moved to a house that overlooks a river where Adam has his boat docked, she has to come up with a sex scene for a script she is working on and she see’s Adam’s steady stream of women coming and going from his boat so she decides to proposition him with some “ahem” results. There is lots of depths to this story and you can feel the heat radiating of them both. A really excellent read.

Just Like Rebecca ( Mishaps in Millrise Book 2) By Tilly Tennant

Just Like Rebecca ( Mishaps in Millrise Book 2) By Tilly Tennant

Phoebe’s new role at work is keeping her busier than ever. Just as she’s finding her feet, however, new boss, Dixon, lands a bombshell: Hendry’s toy store is in dire financial straits and it’s up to him and Phoebe to save it. This isn’t exactly what she signed up for and she’s going to need all the help she can get. So it’s a pity that the only help she has comes in the form of Midnight, her purple-haired colleague who wouldn’t know an employee rule-book if it slapped her in the face…

At home, Jack’s brother, Archie, and their mum, Carol, seem determined to make Phoebe’s life hell, however hard she tries. And now Jack seems to have a new rival too: Adam Hendry, slick heir to the Hendry’s empire, who is making it very clear he’d like to involve Phoebe in a hostile takeover. Just how far will he go to get what he wants?

My Thoughts:

I would just like to say that I find the cover absolutely beautiful and charming, it made me want to jump straight in. This is the second book in the series which you can read as a standalone but if you want to find out about the characters I would suggest reading the first book called Little acts of Love. There are two characters called Jack and Phoebe and their relationship is being tested, there are alot of ups and downs as every new couple will understand. Phoebe finds herself living under Jack’s former wife’s shadow. This is a book I am sure couples can relate to but there is some humour and there is a surprise at the end that I wasn’t expecting.

My Thoughts:

Thank you to Lucy’s publicist for sending me this book, it was very much appreciated.  After reading Lucy’s previous novels called The Sea Sisters and A Single Breath I knew I was going to love this book just as much and I really did. I thought this was a brilliant read definitely one of my favourite of this years, it was a thriller with a good amount of suspense. I genuinely didn’t know how the story would pan out, there are a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and the end was immense. I loved reading about living on a yacht, this part fascinated me and how difficult it is so I now know it is something I would not like to do but I don’t mind reading about it. It is fabulously written too.

Discovering Delilah ( Harborside nights Book 2) By Melissa Foster

Discovering Delilah ( Harborside nights Book 2) By Melissa Foster

After the death of her parents on the day of her college graduation, Delilah Armstrong thought she could finally follow her heart and come out to her closest friends, but the guilt of going against her parents’ beliefs haunts her. The feelings she has for her best friend, Ashley, are stronger than anything she’s felt before, but Delilah has never even kissed a girl, and fear stops her at every turn.

Ashley Carver promised herself that she would never again date another girl who wasn’t out, but that was before she met intoxicatingly sweet and sexy Delilah.

When another girl offers to teach Delilah the ropes, it changes Delilah’s whole world and gives her the courage to go after the only girl she really wants. But coming out isn’t as easy as Delilah imagined, and moving past her parents’ death and the feelings of guilt she is left with is even harder. The intense passion between Ashley and Delilah is too strong to deny, but coming together means risking everything.

My Thoughts:

As with all of Melissa’s books this story focuses on friendship, family and love, I loved Delilah in Catching Cassidy another one of Melissa’s books. This story shows how hard it is to come out that you are gay to your family and friends, but when your parents are drilling it in to you that it is wrong how would you or can you tell the the truth? I honestly don’t know how Delilah would be feeling but I wanted to give her a big hug, I feel like she had this big secret and that she was basically living a lie. I feel like this was an emotional story but so well written.

Her mum and sister are convinced Chelsea’s boyfriend Adam will propose on the ship. Chelsea’s sure he won’t, but she can’t help feeling butterflies as they set sail. Is Adam going to pop the question, or will the only thing to pop be Chelsea’s ego?

My Thoughts:

After reading one of Chrissie’s previous books called A proper family holiday I was more than excited to read this book. I would like to say thank you Eleni at hodder for sending me a copy of this book, it is much appreciated. I must firstly mention the cover of this book it is so summery and lovely, it really put a smile on my face and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. As I have previously read one of Chrissie’s books before I literally felt as I was reacquainted with old friends. I am sure you can read these books as a standalone but I would thoroughly recommend reading them all as they are just brilliant stories. I would say this one has a very serious issues that are dealt with really well but it is still light hearted, I loved reading everyone’s stories. There are a few things which happen which made me chuckle too. After reading the last page and being a bit sad it had come to an end I did see that Chrissie Manby has got her next novel out in November 2015 called A Wedding At Christmas, which I will really look forward to.

My Thoughts:

Can I just say how beautiful and intriguing the cover of this book is. This is Barbara’s first published novel which is set in Granada. The story is very well written, and well thought out, I couldn’t put it down. It was very well paced but with enough anticipation to keep you hooked. The characters were interesting and I loved all the descriptions about Grenada I just wish I was there reading this book it would be spectacular. I really enjoyed the story.
