Is love enough to repair the pieces of a shattered life?

This is the question plaguing Courtney Cook’s mind as she packs her whole existence into a 20ft moving van. When she first encountered Matt in a coffee shop ten years prior, she was immediately transfixed. Dark, adventurous, and wildly untamed, Matt was everything Courtney didn’t know she wanted. One night of uninhibited abandon was all it took for her to be completely enthralled by the boy without limits.

Now saddled with two children, a sky-high mortgage, and a marriage crippled by addiction, Courtney finds herself desperately trying to hold on to the life she knew. But as she struggles between letting go of what could have been and accepting what is, one question simmers at the surface of Courtney’s mind: is love ever enough?

My Thoughts:

I like the fact that this book is a real life situation, the author writes well and with sympathy. The main character Courtney is fun loving and adventurous, then she meets Matt and settles down with him for good but is she missing the life she had before him? I felt drawn into the story.

True love can be hard to find. Even when it’s been right under your nose all along…

After witnessing the fallout of her parent’s divorce, love has never been a priority for garden designer Frankie Cole. The only man in her life is her friend Matt–but that’s strictly platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he makes her heart race…

Matt Walker has loved Frankie for years but, has always played it cool. Until he uncovers new depths to the girl he’s known forever, and doesn’t want to wait a moment longer.

Matt knows Frankie has secrets and has buried them deep, but can he persuade her to kiss him under the Manhattan sunset?

My Thoughts:

I received this book in exchange of an honest review. I really enjoy all of Sarah Morgan’s books, there is just something about them that you can just lose yourself into the story. I feel like I am revisiting old friends as this is book 2 and I would recommend reading book one so you can get some other other characters stories. A brilliant storyline as you don’t know which way Frankie will go and you find out more about her. I loved it and cannot wait for the next book.

My Thoughts:

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love books by Sarah Morgan they always seem to bring a smile to my face. I loved all the characters in this book, I liked Paige as she had a fall but managed to pick herself up again and I think that was the right thing for her to do. She has some brilliant friends who remind me of my friends as in would do whatever they could for you. I also really liked Jake, I mean who wouldn’t, lucky Paige is what I say. Even though I could predict the ending, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. It may make you a little hot under the collar so be careful where you are reading it. I loved it and look forward to Sarah’s next book.

Vets In Love By Cathy Woodman

Vets In Love By Cathy Woodman

Love is in the air in Talyton St George, Devon’s most romantic town.

Glamorous GP Nicci (aka the galloping doctor) and Matt, the very handsome equine vet, have caught each other’s eye. On paper it looks like a match made in heaven.

There are problems, however: Matt’s jealous ex-girlfriend being one of them. But the main trouble is Nicci’s determination to qualify for the Badminton Horse Trials. Because although Matt treats horses for a living, a tragedy in his past makes him terrified every time Nicci competes.

So when Nicci has a terrible accident, a devastated Matt gives her an ultimatum: it’s him or the riding.

Nicci can’t believe he means it. But can she risk putting him to the test?

My Thoughts:

Each book in the Talyton St George series can be read as a standalone novel, but I would certainly recommend reading them all in order as you will get to know the characters and their stories. This is the sixth book and I really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of Cathy Woodman’s books, she has a lovely style of writing that is like being wrapped in a big warm hug. I loved the story and I did really feel for Nicci at times. I enjoyed reading about the horses side of the book as I used to ride and this has made me really want to get back into it. A lovely little story that you will want to read over and over again.

His Other Life By Beth Thomas

His Other Life By Beth Thomas

The story of a couple with seemingly perfect lives…and the secrets they hide behind closed doors.

Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty and Jo Jo Moyes.

He was hiding a terrible secret . . .

Grace’s new husband Adam seems like the perfect package. Good looking, great job, completely charming – almost too good to be true . . .

So when Adam suddenly disappears from Grace’s life, she is left bewildered and heartbroken. And with a lot of unanswered questions.

As she tries desperately to find him, Grace opens a Pandora’s Box of secrets and lies – and starts to learn that Adam wasn’t so perfect after all.

What shameful secrets was her husband hiding? Is Grace in danger? And can she survive the truth? However terrible it may be . .

My Thoughts:

This book really drew me in. I love Beth’s writing style, she has a way to make the characters really likeable. I loved the plot, where Grace’s husband Adam goes missing and she and her friend Matt try to piece together what happened to him. I actually thought I knew what was going to happen early on but was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The cover looks brilliant and enchanting and I couldn’t wait to leap right in.

The Year I Met You By Cecelia Ahern

The Year I Met You By Cecelia Ahern

Jasmine loves two things: her sister and her work. And when her work is taken away she has no idea who she is.

Matt loves two things: his family and the booze. Without them, he hits rock bottom.

One New Year’s Eve, two people’s paths collide. Both have time on their hands; both are at a crossroads. But as the year unfolds, through moonlit nights and suburban days, an unlikely friendship slowly starts to blossom.

Sometimes you have to stop still in order to move on…

My Thoughts:

I got this book as a Christmas present from a family member and couldn’t wait to get stuck in. There is just something about the way Cecelia writes that is magical, I have loved all of her books. This story is about a woman called Jasmine, who during the course of a year is forced to examine her life more closely. I found Jasmine’s use of you when referencing Matt interesting and different. Halfway through she begins to use you a lot less. I think this was a good idea as it shows a change in the relationship between Jasmine and Matt. I loved Jasmine’s sister Heather who has down’s syndrome which I loved reading about as it is close to my heart as my cousin has it. Nothing stops him from doing what he wants in life and neither does it with Heather. The ending I felt was very reflective and I thought it as a fantastic way to end the book.
