A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcraft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives.

But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity – that she, in fact, is Lydia – their world comes crashing down once again.

As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirstie (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. My Thoughts:

This is a new author to me so after winning this book in a competition I thought I would give it a go. I managed to read it in two days but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I might. I felt the middle part of the story kind of went of course a bit, but the ending was fine. However, I found the writing very descriptive and I liked looking at the photos that are in the book. I did want to finish the book and I am glad I did as I wanted to see what happened in the end. This is a novel I think that will stay with you.
