Walking on Sunshine By Emily Harvale

Walking on Sunshine By Emily Harvale

walking on sunshine

Walking on Sunshine. You simply need to take that step. Lucy Draycourt loves her job – or so she keeps telling everyone – but her friend, Beatrix Welsley says Lucy needs to ‘find herself’… so they’re going to Beatrix’s, Aunt Petunia’s wedding. Lucy can’t see how this will help, and besides, she doesn’t need to find herself. Just because she was given away at birth doesn’t mean she’s ‘lost’. Who cares that she was adopted? Her childhood was perfect so it doesn’t bother her. Or does it? Is her search for recognition really a search for something else? And is there any chance she’ll find it at Petunia Welsley’s wedding? Evan Foster needs a break.

He’s done nothing but work for several years and his life is frankly, a mess. The invitation to Uncle Bartram’s wedding has come at the perfect time. Or maybe not. Two years ago, Evan’s fiancée ran off with his business partner and it’s now abundantly clear that they’re not coming back. Evan needs to make plans for the future, but it’s difficult to move forward when you’re still living in the past. But as Petunia Welsley, the bride-to-be would say: ‘You can’t see the sun if you’re staring into clouds.

Sometimes all you need to do is take a step in a different direction and you’ll be walking on sunshine.’

My Thoughts:

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and I didn’t have to wait long. I have really enjoyed all of the hideaway down stories, you can read them as a standalone but for these I would recommend reading them all. This is book 3 in the series. I have fallen in love with some of the characters and they feel like my family. I love the title of the book as that is one of my favourite all time songs and the cover looks really summery. It is not a big book only 116 pages but it is a nice easy read and one that I had a good laugh too. I loved catching up with old and new friends and I look forward to returning to them hopefully soon.

Catch A Falling Star. A Hideaway Down Novel (Book 2)

Sometimes stars need help to shine. Laurel French is happy – and why wouldn’t she be? She’s young, free and single; she owns The Coffee Hideaway, lives in the prettiest village in East Sussex and is surrounded by friends… even if some of them are a little eccentric. What more could she want? Love? Not Laurel. Love is the last thing Laurel wants to think about… because it’s unrequited. Ned Stelling is in love with someone else. Jamie McDay is miserable.

Hollywood has become a gilded cage. The paparazzi are snapping at his heels, and since he dumped his co-star girlfriend in a spectacularly stupid public display, he’s been dropped from the Vampire series that made him a heart-throb, movie star. Visiting his friend, Gabriel Hardwick will cheer him up.

Hideaway Down may be a bit ‘twee’ but local stunner, Ivy Gilroy could definitely put a permanent smile on Jamie’s face. That’s if he can persuade her to dump her boyfriend, Ned.

My Thoughts:

I couldn’t wait to start reading this book as I am a big fan of Emily Harvale’s books. This one got me back into reading after having a bit of time off. From the moment I started reading this book I felt as though I was there in Hideaway Down. I feel with Emily’s characters as though I know them all personally, it is because she just has a way with her words. In Emily’s books you feel like you can relate to the characters which I like. I am so pleased I have found Emily Harvale as she is such a incredible author. Thank you Emily.

Ninety Days to Christmas (Goldebury Bay Book 3) By Emily Harvale

Ninety Days to Christmas (Goldebury Bay Book 3) By Emily Harvale

Poppy knows what she wants for Christmas.

Poppy Taylor is tired of playing gooseberry to her loved-up friends. She wants a man of her own to snuggle up with in time for the holidays – and Christmas Day is only ninety days away.

She’s set her sights firmly on the new man in town: property developer and all-round nice guy, Toby Blackwood. Poppy’s hoping it won’t just be the wood burner in her cottage keeping her warm as the cold, dark nights draw in…

But Toby’s obnoxious, older brother Ryan, a self-made millionaire, makes it abundantly clear that he has other plans for Toby and he’s not going to let Poppy get in his way.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of this book from Emily herself. I was so excited to start reading this one as I have read Emily’s previous books in this series. This book like all the others can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading them all as they are all fantastic reads. I loved catching up with all the characters and seeing what happens next for them all. Even though Christmas is in the title of this book it is more of a lead up to Christmas so it is not focusing on Christmas. A lovely romantic book which I really enjoyed reading and I really look forward to reading the next book of Emily’s. You just know it is going to be good.

These are the other books in the Goldebury series:

BOOK ONE – Ninety Days of Summer

BOOK TWO – Ninety Steps to Summerhill

BOOK THREE – Ninety Days to Christmas

Ninety Steps to Summerhill By Emily Harvale

Ninety Steps to Summerhill By Emily Harvale

Sophie Summerhill believes in Fate and she’s in Goldebury Bay for only one reason: to find the fabled, long-lost, Summerhill treasure. When she finds it, she’s going to sell it and head for a life of luxury in the Caribbean. But first, she has to solve the mystery of an ancient feud between local families: the Beaumonts, the Suttons and the Pollards and to do that, she will need some help.

What she doesn’t need is good-looking journalist, Timothy Richards asking questions. Or a man who’s just lost everything – the darkly handsome, Thaddeus Beaumont, taking on the role of  ‘knight in shining armour’. In fact, Sophie must try to avoid Thaddeus. He might find out what she’s trying to keep hidden from everyone in Goldebury Bay, and particularly from him.

My Thoughts:

I just want to say a big thank you to Emily who sent me this book and signed it for me too. I love the cover and I thought the blurb on the back done like a postcard is such a fantastic idea. I thought it looked brilliant. This is book two in the Goldebury Bay Series and I will be reading the first book very soon. You will love this book if your a fan of the romantic novels, Emily doesn’t leave anything out, this book has humour, friendship, falling in love with lots of fun. I was lost in this book as I really wanted to find out if Sophie would find the treasure in the end. I loved the story, they are some very amusing parts in it.  And I liked all the characters, I think Sophie is very lucky to a hot guy in Thaddeus in her life. I look forward to reading the first book in this series and I certainly look forward to the next book. This is a book you will not want to put down.
