My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book, any book written by Nicky is brilliant. It is a romantic comedy that is truly funny. The main characters are Casey and Alex who have just got married and are finding it hard to “perform”, they both have many excuses but when tomorrow turns into a month, they are aware something is not right. So they try everything they can to spark it again with some very interesting results. There are many things that this book highlights, the power of love and the understanding of love, but it is a well written story that I really enjoyed reading about.

My Thoughts:

I would suggest reading The billionaire’s Christmas before this book so that you can become familiar with the Sinclair men. This is Dante and Sarah’s story, there is instant chemistry between them both. Dante is the very hot overprotective man whilst Sarah is the very lovely and highly intelligent woman. I loved the way even when everything goes wrong they seem to grow stronger together. I look forward to the next book.

My Thoughts:

Having never read any of this author’s books before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was recommended this book first as I would meet all the characters then I would know who is who in the next book. This is a lovely romantic story that isn’t too long. The story is written well and the erotic parts are well detailed without being over the top. I look forward to reading the next one.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this book and it definitely is another brilliantly written story by Fiona, it is so much more than your usual chick lit. I found the plot very entertaining and liked that there were twists and turns in the story. I liked Jenny and could see myself in her sometimes, I loved her job looking after peoples homes but I don’t think I could do it, it did seem quite stressful at many times. I think the star of the show was Gunther the dog, yes I know he was quite naughty but he seemed very loveable. I found the story light hearted but it also very thought provoking. I think is shows how heartbreak can influence our lives After reading a few of Fiona’s books I think this is my favourite so far. It was a funny and touching book and I look forward to the next book.

My Thoughts:
I was very excited to read and review this book by Ruth herself as I have read some of Ruth’s books before and they are brilliant. From the very first page I felt drawn into the story, there is romance, humour and some really lovely characters who I felt I connected with. The cover looks amazing, really summery and I look forward to the next book. A perfect chick lit for a summer holiday. You won’t be disappointed.

My Thoughts:

This book follows the story of twins Wyatt and Deliah and their childhood friend Cassidy. They have to deal with a complete blow, which forces them to do a lot of growing up very quickly. When life doesn’t turn out the way you planned it, it is great to know you have brilliant friends there to help you out. I a big fan of Melissa’s books but I have to say I thought this one was my favourite book.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to win a signed copy of this book by Cathy, which was just brilliant. I have read a few of Cathy’s books now and love all of them. This book is in a series called the Talyton St George but can be read as a standalone. I loved all the characters in this book especially Ross as he seemed a bit of a hunk. I love the way Ross and Shannon’s relationship had it’s up’s and downs as doesn’t everyone. Cathy has a way of completely engrossing you into the story that you just won’t want to put the book down. I also loved reading about all the animals, as I am a big animal lover.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to get a advance copy of this book and I absolutely loved it. This book is a sequel to ‘An Unexpected Affair’ and I loved catching up with Eleanor and the other characters from the previous book. I love the way the book is set out and there are some interesting characters thrown into the mix. I found the story entertaining and I did find myself chuckling on a few occasions. The ending is a good one as you will not be expecting it.  I love the way Jan writes, and I look forward to more of her books in the future.

My Thoughts:

This is a new author to me so after winning this book in a competition I thought I would give it a go. I managed to read it in two days but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I might. I felt the middle part of the story kind of went of course a bit, but the ending was fine. However, I found the writing very descriptive and I liked looking at the photos that are in the book. I did want to finish the book and I am glad I did as I wanted to see what happened in the end. This is a novel I think that will stay with you.

The world’s first edible garden made from 15 different types of cake opened to the public in Central London yesterday.

Visitors were encouraged to ‘dig in’ to the bourbon biscuit borders and nibble on one of the 250 cake flowers growing in the plot in Russell Square which was surrounded by a wall made from 1,300 slices of fruit loaf grouted with Nutella.Cake-5

The quintessentially English country garden, which took over 450 hours to bake, build and install, was created to launch the paperback version of best-selling author Carole Matthews’ new novel The Cake Shop in the Garden.

The scent of roses, pansies and peonies has never been sweeter as the garden in the book’s title was brought to life using four kilos of icing alongside borders of chocolate crumb soil, Battenberg stepping stones, a bird bath lined with Swiss-roll and a lawn dotted with sugar daisies – not forgetting 300 leaves of edible ivy.Cake-13

Ensuring no one went home hungry, 30 bags of marshmallows, eight kilos of sweets and chocolate pebbles and over 1,000 biscuits finished off the Willy Wonka-esque wonderland where even the insects were edible.

Author Carole Matthews said: “The garden is the place where love, life and family collide for my main character, Faye Merriweather so it was really exciting to bring it to life using cake as it features so prominently throughout the storyline. It was certainly one of a kind – and where better for visitors to grab a slice of the action?”.
