Langdon is muddling his way through the pandemic like everybody else. Business restrictions have dealt a blow to his mystery bookstore, and nobody leaves the house anymore to get into trouble and create a need for a PI. At the same time, his marriage is stronger than ever, and he’s had a chance to catch up on things around the house.
Then it all changes. The bookstore opens back up, and he gets hired to find a missing woman, find proof of sexual harassment against another local business owner, and track down a kidnapped boy before he is executed by a madman in a desperate bid to force the state to ease masking restrictions.
My Thoughts:
This is book four in the Mainely series and I love these books so much. I would recommend reading all the other previous books in this series as you can get the back story of Langdon. Also the other books are really good, We catch up with Langdon as he is going through the pandemic like everyone else is. We see how the pandemic has affected his business and his life. Then we find him going on an interesting case of finding a missing woman, amongst other interesting cases. It is just another day in the life of Langdon. I just love these books so much, I always feel as though I am trying to work out Langdon’s cases before him, but I never do as Langdon is just too good. I loved these books and look forward to Matt’s next book.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
