I thought I would do a shout out to some authors that don’t get enough credit and you may not have heard of. I have read all of these books and highly rate them. Some of them are debut authors which means it is their first book, and others are just hidden gems. I have tried to give a selection of different genres, so hoping you all find something that you like. If you click on the pictures of the different books it will take you to the amazon page to show you more detail about the books. Try one you never know you may discover your next favourite author.
Happy Reading!
Hunting Abigail By Jeremy Costello
This is a really good book, this is Jeremy’s debut novel and I found it an outstanding story, I literally felt as though my heart was in my mouth reading this intense thriller. I couldn’t put it down. It is a dark story but one that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Mainely Power By Matt Cost
I really enjoyed this book and read it in a day. It is all about Goff Langdon who is a private detective but also has his own bookstore, which is named after his dog Coffee Dog, a bunch of interesting characters makes for a riveting read. The ending was brilliant too.
This is the first book in the Mainely Mystery Trilogy and I look forward to reading Mainely Fear and then the last one will be Mainely Money. To find out more about Matt and his books, check out his website:

Six Idiots witness a murder By Robert Hickman
If your in need of a laugh ( I think we all are these days) then this is the book for you, you will find yourself agreeing with a lot of things that Robert writes, I know I did. I laughed a lot and it really cheered me up. I would definitely recommend this one. This is a debut novel which means it is the author’s first book.

One? By Jennifer Cahill
This is a great pick me up read, there are a great bunch of characters who are believable. I found it a fun and easy read that is about love and friendship before the internet came along, I liked how the story came together and seeing how people cope with change and new insights. This is a really good first debut and I look forward to the next book.

When I know your Name By Gemma Lawrence
This book is dangerous, once you have picked it up, nothing else will stand in it’s way and you wont want to put it down. It is a very good read with believable characters, I don’t think I have read a book with this type of story before, the fact that this is a debut novel just makes me even more happy as it is full of suspense and you never know what will happen next. I look forward to more books by Gemma in the future. This is definitely one I would recommend. This is Gemma’s debut novel.

Wild Horses on the Salt By Anne Montgomery
This is Rebecca’s story, after leaving a very traumatic time in her life, she escapes far away from a very bad relationship, she ends up in Arizona, where she meets a few new people including Noah and also some wild horses. Will her past catch up with her? will she finally be free from her past? I found it a really sad story, Rebecca has been through a lot and I wished for her to find peace and happiness. I liked the setting of this story and the small details really make a difference. I liked the parts about the wild horses as I love horses, it was also interesting to learn about the way they are managed in the wild. I found the ending was a little predictable but I really enjoyed the story.

The Selected Poems By Kevin Morris
There is a wide range of poems in this book, the book is split into four different sections. When I read a poem now I always look into the poem more, Kevin the author has the ability to show that it is much more than a poem and that they will stay with you and you will remember them in time. There are a few poems that I liked the fridge’s hum, made me think of everyday objects that make noises and you don’t realise until they have stopped. One of the most powerful poems in this book is What is a double bed? It made me think that what I have I must cherish. I loved the section on nature, I am a big nature fan, I really liked all these poems and will be reading these poems over and over again when I need time to reflect.
