How well do you know your girlfriend?
How well do you know your lover?
How well do you know yourself?
Daniel and Victoria are together. They’re trying for a baby. Ruby is in prison, convicted of assault on an abusive partner.
But when Daniel joins a pen pal program for prisoners, he and Ruby make contact. At first the messages are polite, neutral – but soon they find themselves revealing more and more about themselves. Their deepest fears, their darkest desires.
And then, one day, Ruby comes to find Daniel. And now he must decide who to choose – and who to trust.
My Thoughts:
This is a story that had me gripped from the beginning, I couldn’t work out or see where the story was going which made me more intrigued to read on. The story is quite a quick one but a good one none the less, I loved the idea of writing to a prisoner as you can just imagine there are all different kinds of people in there, you just don’t know who you are going to get. The way the story flows you wouldn’t and couldn’t guess what was going to happen. The shock at the end brings a cleverly written thriller to a dramatic end.
