The Last Goodbye By Fiona Lucas

Anna’s world was shattered three years ago when her husband Spencer was killed in a tragic accident. Her friends and family think it’s time she moved on, but how can she when she’s lost her soulmate?

On New Year’s Eve, Anna calls Spencer’s old phone just to hear his voicemail greeting. But to her surprise someone picks up. Brody answers and is the first person who truly understands what Anna is going through. As they begin to speak regularly, Anna finds herself opening up and slowly she discovers how to smile again, how to laugh, even how to hope.

But Brody hasn’t been entirely honest with Anna. Will his secret threaten everything, just as it seems she might find the courage to love again?

My Thoughts:

This is a story of love and loss and how to begin to love again. Anna’s world falls apart when her husband dies, her family and friends all try to help her to move on but she doesn’t want to just yet, which you can completely understand. When she rings her husbands old phone to hear his voice mail, someone picks up. Brody totally gets Anna and what she is going through, can both of them open up to each other and find a way to smile again? Such a beautiful told tale, with relatable characters, it’s hard to know what people are going through unless you have had the same experiences. I liked both Anna and Brody and could see how both their hearts were broken and wished that they could both find the light at the end of the tunnel.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
