How would you feel if the only man you’d ever loved was taken away from you? And imagine how he’d feel if he hadn’t really been taken away at all – but couldn’t find a way to let you know…

Mel Taylor was thirteen years old when she found Adam. Twenty years on, they are still blissfully in love. She has everything she ever wished for. But Mel’s happiness is spoilt by a secret from their past and a niggling fear that her good fortune can’t last forever.

Despite her husband Adam’s efforts to reassure her that nothing bad is going to happen, Mel can’t shake the feeling that good things can’t last forever. But what she isn’t expecting, is something so terrible that their lives will be changed forever . . .

My Thoughts:

Having not read any of Linda’s books before I looked forward to read something different. I felt like I learnt a great deal about certain things that happen in this book. You will understand what I mean once you are reading it, I don’t want to give anything away. I love how each chapter is split between the wife and the husband. It deals with how Mel copes and also how Adam copes when their lives are changed forever. A really clever storyline and one that was well written.

The Mum Who’d Had Enough By Fiona Gibson

The Mum Who’d Had Enough By Fiona Gibson

After sixteen years of marriage, Nate and Sinead Turner have a nice life. They like their jobs, they like their house and they love their son Flynn. Yes, it’s a very nice life.

Or, at least Nate thinks so. Until, one morning, he wakes to find Sinead gone and a note lying on the kitchen table listing all the things he does wrong or doesn’t do at all.

Nate needs to show Sinead he can be a better husband – fast. But as he works through Sinead’s list, his life changes in unexpected ways. And he starts to wonder whether he wants them to go back to normal after all. Could there be more to life than nice?

My Thoughts:

I just want to start if by saying how lovely and vibrant the cover of this book is, the yellow really makes it stand out. Fiona Gibson’s books never fail to make me laugh and this one really did make me chuckle. Some parts of the story I really do feel for Sinead but then other parts I really feel for Nate, marriage is a hard thing but if you work together then it becomes a lot more easier. I like how the chapters were even husband or wife and at the end we get their son’s version. A really warm, witty and funny read.

Someone is always watching…

Derek Flint is a loner. He lives with his mother and spends his
evenings watching his clients on the CCTV cameras he has installed inside their homes. He likes their companionship – even if it’s through a screen.

When a series of crimes hits Derek’s neighbourhood, DC Beth Mayes begins to suspect he’s involved. How does he know so much about the victims’ lives? Why won’t he let anyone into his office? And what is his mother hiding in that strange, lonely house?

As the crimes become more violent, Beth must race against the clock to find out who is behind the attacks. Will she uncover the truth in time? And is Derek more dangerous than even she has guessed?

My Thoughts:

I found this book utterly creepy. I didn’t want to read it before bed. But I did enjoy it, the hairs on the back of my neck were raised wanting to know what would happen next. Even though I found it creepy I did really enjoy the storyline, it was quite unique and believable. The characters were very descriptive and imaginable too.

This title will be released on June 20, 2018.

At seventeen, Pam Allen escapes Jamaica, leaving her infant daughter Simone behind. Years later, after the death of her aunt, Pam is forced to take in the daughter she never wanted.

They live in a run-down apartment complex in North York next to Mike O’Shea – a racist, loudmouth high school dropout who has recently separated from his wife and finds himself raising his eight-year-old son, Nolan, alone.

The two parents try to coexist in a world where they are drowning as single parents until they reluctantly join forces to raise their young children together. When a life-altering mistake forces their children on diverging, tumultuous paths, the make-shift family struggles to find their way back to each other before their whole world crumbles for good.

My Thoughts:

I just want to say please do not be put of by the size of this book it is a big book but the story that unfolds in between these pages are utterly riveting. I couldn’t believe that this is a debut novel as the writing is very descriptive and very well thought out. I loved getting involved in Simone’s life from when she is young to her adult life, it makes for a emotional read. I think what I learnt from this book is that you have to follow your dreams, don’t hold back on what would bring you happiness as you never know what is around the corner. I liked the twist at the end. I didn’t want this book to end but I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Simone’s life. I want to read more of this author.

Thank you to G.Barton-Sinkia for sending me this book.

My Thoughts:

This is one perfect Summer read, it is full of emotions and deals with issues that real people have and would understand. This story pulled me in and I didn’t want to let go. I loved all the interesting characters and where the story went. Everyone rallies round to help their family when life becomes tough and it reminded me of my family and how close we are. Looking forward to the next book as always.

Welcome to the gorgeous Cornish town of St Felix, where there’s magic in the air…

When Ana inherits a broken-down camper van from her best friend, she takes the chance for a quick trip to Cornwall – some sea air and fish and chips on the beach is just the tonic she needs.

But St Felix has bigger plans for Ana. She discovers a series of unsent postcards, dating back to the 1950s, hidden in the upholstery of the van. Ana knows that it’s a sign: she’ll make sure that the messages reach the person that they were meant for. And as the broken-down van is restored to gleaming health, so Ana begins to find her way back to happiness.

My Thoughts:

The paperback cover of this book is lovely, its really eye catching and I love the way different things on it are embossed. I loved the idea of the plot and it really took hold of me, hoping that Ana and Noah would find out what they were looking for. It has an interesting ending which puts a spin on things but it works well. Another author I will definitely have to read more of.

Tubing By K.A.McKeagney

Tubing By K.A.McKeagney

tubing

Polly, 28, lives in London with her ‘perfect-on-paper’ boyfriend. She works a dead end job on a free London paper… life as she knows it is dull. But her banal existence is turned upside down late one drunken night on her way home, after a chance encounter with a man on a packed tube train. The chemistry between them is electric and on impulse, they kiss, giving in to their carnal desires. But it’s over in an instant, and Polly is left shell-shocked as he walks away without even telling her his name.

Now obsessed with this beautiful stranger, Polly begins a frantic online search, and finally discovers more about tubing , an underground phenomenon in which total strangers set up illicit, silent, sexual meetings on busy commuter tube trains. In the process, she manages to track him down and he slowly lures her into his murky world, setting up encounters with different men via Twitter.

At first she thinks she can keep it separate from the rest of her life, but things soon spiral out of control.

By chance she spots him on a packed tube train with a young, pretty blonde. Seething with jealousy, she watches them together. But something isn’t right and a horrific turn of events make Polly realise not only how foolish she has been, but how much danger she is in…

Can she get out before it s too late?

My Thoughts:

I was intrigued when I heard about this book so much so that I thought I would give it a go. It is a interesting storyline that is pretty intense in a erotic way. Fans of erotic fiction will like this one. There are lots of different surprises along the way, I have not read anything like this before and I am not sure I ever will. I wonder if this really goes on underground?
